Designing for Print

Although designing for the web garners much of the attention in design circles, print is still a fundamental.

Designing for print is required for your own promotional materials as well as your clients. Become intimately familliar with the demands of printing as you design projects such as logos, business cards, brochures, newsletters, etc… A PDF, although distributed electronically, must be set up for printing.

You'll learn how to set up your documents correctly in order to ensure it prints correctly, and set up for proper bindery. For instance, when designing a brochure, you have to set it up so that when you fold it, it folds correctly. If you are designing multi-page documents, there is imposition to consider so that the pages are ordered correctly when folded.
