Branding
Branding your Designs

Thanks to the World Wide Web, you are no longer limited to your local area for getting clients. Some of your clients may be from across the pond!

Learning to customize your designs for the global economy is now imperative. With the advent of the internet, you may be seeking clients from overseas — or, chances are, your clients may be breaking into the international market. We'll keep you up-to-date with global and cultural trends, as this is a growing phenomenon.

It all starts with knowing your audience and market. The goal of any design is to strike a chord with your audience. You'll learn the primary ways you can create a connection with your readers, and how to maximize the effectiveness of your designs.

You'll learn different ways to customize and brand your designs

We’ll provide you with all the articles, checklists, tips and strategies you need to help you create designs that are targeted and appropriate for your client. You'll learn how to approach each design and how to tailor it to your audience by:

  1. Culture: Choosing colors, design style and typefaces that reflect the culture of your audience.
  2. Era: When designing for a particular era (ex: 70s, Renaissance, etc…) you can establish a mood through your color and typeface choices, as well as the arrangement of the graphic elements.
  3. Demographic: You'll have to keep in mind whether your audience is mostly young/old, male/female, and professionals/retired. To appeal to the correct demographic, you must customize your design to them.
  4. Mood: Are you trying to set a mood with your design? What look are you going for? Professional, tranquil, vibrant, techno? Learn to set the appropriate mood with your design.
  5. Industry and Market: You'll notice that designing for the financial markets or the health and fitness markets are different. Learn the different rules that you need to observe when designing in various markets.
  6. Layout / Formats: We'll teach you how to design and setup your document in different formats (for example: brochures, catalogs, newsletter, or annual reports.) As you will soon learn, it's not only about the way the document is set up but the how you approach designing it.
  7. Branding: You may find yourself designing for a company with a branding program already in place. Learn how can you put your own stamp on it while observing the branding identity they already have in place. You'll also learn how to create a new brand identity for a company.
  8. Marketing and Advertising principles: We'll cover the timeless marketing and advertising principles you can use in your designs to make them stronger and much more effective.
