Welcome to Design & Thrive!
Inside this site, you will find hundreds of articles, how-to's, checklists, and other resources that contain all the information you need to be a proficient designer, learn to be marketing savvy, get it printed the way it looks onscreen and be an effective business person. On this site, no starving artists are allowed!
This site was born to fill a need. Finding websites that deal with design software programs is far easier than finding a website that shows you the ins and outs of becoming a great graphic designer — and a profitable one at that!
I grew frustrated in trying to find comprehensive websites that included information on design principles and efficient production techniques (printing, pre-press, and bindery). I also wanted to learn about marketing techniques that can be used by designers and how to create your own successful freelance design business.
There are sites that deal with some of these topics. But in order to be a great graphic designer, you must be well-versed in ALL of these. And what was available was like working your way through a maze — blindfolded. This is how and why "Design & Thrive" came into fruition.
Here's a rundown of the design-specific content and resources you will have access to the minute you join:
- All the downloadable forms you will ever need for your business: contracts, spreadsheets, invoices, checklists and more!
- Up-to-the minute information on current trends and information on technology, design theory, business and marketing.
- Dozens of how-to articles, tip sheets, and special reports.
- With the world at your feet, how to customize your designs according to the culture you are designing for.
- NEW! Private, members-only discussion forum where you can share information, network, and get your questions answered.
- FREE subscription to my monthly members-only newsletter and newsletter archives.
- FREE subscription to my tips of the week and access previous archives of my tips.
- SPECIAL REWARD: we show our appreciation to our active members with a quarterly reports dealing with a most asked topic. These are time-sensitive and will not be archived.
What I wanted to create was a site that is easy (and fun!) to navigate through with articles, content and resources that are not based on theory — but can be put into practice immediately.
The only information I include is tested, timeless and successfully proven in the real world.
